I BEAM AND WIDE FLANGE
Alberdo is a prime supplier of I beam, H beam, and wide flange in the Philippines. We have fabricated steel beams and columns in our plants in Manila. We have fabricated steel beams and columns in our plants in Manila. Steel beam normally comes in the form of an I beam or an H beam, which is also called the wide flange. They are used as support trusses or main frameworks in buildings or other infrastructures. Steel I beams provide high integrity to the structure because of their great strength and durability. We also supply H beam or wide flange.
The name I beam comes from its shape because the steel beam and column resemble the shape of a big letter “I” or “H“. This shape allows the beam to have a higher load resistance using the least amount of material possible. I beam has two (2) parts, namely the flange and the web. The flange is the two plates on the outer portion of the beam while the web is the one connecting them.
H beam is also called the wide flange because the flange is wider than that of the I beam. Additionally, I beam has fillets on the outer portion of the flange. It means that the outer part of the flange is thinner than that of the middle side. The flange provides bending resistance for the beam while the web resists the shear.
usage of i beam and wide flange
I beam and wide flange is used for support on high rise building, warehouse, and others.
Serves as a king pile for retention wall as additional support.
For framework on warehouse roofs.
Beams can be hot-rolled or built-up. If the beam is made as a single part by melting steel and rolling them to get the desired I profile, it is called a hot rolled beam. On the other hand, here in the Philippines, we can fabricate wide flange by welding three plates in the same orientation, and that’s how we produce the built-up beams. We have supplied I beam and wide flange for various projects in the Philippines.
